THE inclusion of intersex and intersex people, of whom speaker Mauro Cabral is one, in a hearing at the European Parliament is welcomed.

UK Socialist Michael Cashman urged the EU to suspend relations with “those countries that do not respect human rights” during a hearing on Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Intersex rights in the world 30 June.

It should be noted that no nation in the world, except South Africa and Colombia to some degree, legislates to protect the rights of intersex people.
