New York, New York

What is intersex? What are intersex activists working toward? How can I be a good intersex ally and raise awareness?

Join activists Hida Viloria, Tricia Madison, and Claudia Astorino for an interactive workshop covering the basics of intersex, current issues in intersex activism, and how to support intersex individuals.

PERFORMANCE: Intersex Awareness – Celebrating Our Bodies

Saturday, October 29 · 4:00pm – 6:00pm
Bluestockings Bookstore, Café, & Activist Center

Intersex individuals are those whose bodies have a mix body characteristics traditionally considered “male” or “female.” Clinicians attempt to “fix” intersex bodies through a variety of medical procedures that individuals often cannot give consent to, but our bodies are beautiful and healthy as they naturally are.

Join activists Hida Viloria, Tricia Madison, Claudia Astorino, and more to explore intersex issues through a series of performance monologues that focus on lived experience. With Q&A to follow!
